Happy 40th LUANNiversary!

Dear Reader,

As a Luann Fan, you've probably already seen our anniversary Sunday strip and visited LuannFan.com to watch our thank you video and see this month's unusual Featured Collection: 13 Going on 53. We hope you also enjoyed the special deep dive post about How Luann Begann. As we dug through our archives and scrapbooks, we realized we had WAY more story and stuff to share than we can fit into these emails. Seriously--the content exceeded what inboxes will allow!

Just for our Luann Fans we also recorded a video tour of Greg's studio to show you a smidge of all the interesting material we've been sorting through in preparation for LUANN's anniversary...and for something else exciting that we have debuting later this year! More about that below.

As always, THANK YOU for your fan support. Here's to many more decades of sharing the LUANNiverse with you!

For the 40th anniversary, we thought it would be fun to revisit the first week of LUANN as if Luann had aged in real time. She was 13 when the strip debuted in 1985 so she'd be 53 years old now!

We are sooo excited to announce that the San Diego Comic Con Museum will be opening a LUANN exhibit later this year! We have been working with their team to plan the layout of the exhibit...and now we have a lot of work to do to find, frame, and display LUANN materials in a way that will capture the interest of museum visitors (whether they grew up reading LUANN or have never heard of it). Here is a rough sketch of the space we have the privilege of filling:

Don't worry, it makes sense when you're there in person. Speaking of, if any of you are in the San Diego area later this year we hope you'll come check it out and explore the entire Comic Con Museum. We'll keep y'all posted when we have dates to announce! For now, we're off to the storage unit to dig through decades of original art...

Dear Reader, With Halloween around the corner, it's a fun time to imagine what else we could be: not just whether we could have been doctors, but what it would be like to be a dragon, a ghost, or an elven warrior. Greg and Karen at the NCS Reuben Awards Dear Reader, Fall is in the air and dogs are on our minds, perhaps because Greg and Betty's dog, Charlie, managed to swallow a peach pit and need emergency surgery last month just in time for Betty to miss out on attending the annual National Cartoonists Society's conference and Reuben Awards in Boston. Dear Reader, What an awesome summer whirlwind we've had: first the LUANN exhibit opening at the Comic-Con Museum, then presenting as Special Guests and seeing fans for five days of Comic-Con, and finally off to Boston for the annual gathering and Reuben Awards with our peers in the National Cartoonists Society. Whew! We are ready to rest...and get caught back up on deadlines! THANK YOU to the fans who came to the Museum and found us at Comic-Con! We love seeing you in person and appreciate...
